Lando Norris is not enthusiastic about the new generation of Formula 1 cars.


The car`s piloting is unpleasant compared to last year. This is a different challenge. I wouldn`t say that I get the same pleasure from the car as I did from the previous ones - just in terms of comfortable piloting, the ability to play with curbs, lines and all that. Now we are more limited.


Even if you take the settings, there are more restrictions. You just need to lower the car as low as possible and make it as stiff as possible, and then soften it if the suspension is too hard. This is essentially how every weekend goes, whereas in previous years there was much more room for change and we found different solutions at different stages.


This year (2022) - not so much. In a sense, you can`t play around so much. There are bigger challenges than good settings, " said the McLaren driver at the end of last season.


Norris answered the question whether he expects more impressive sensations from the following cars:


I don`t know, unless there will be big changes. I don`t know what will change. Most likely, everything will get worse, because the more downforce, the worse the situation. I expect that as the cars are improved, the downforce will increase and it will be more difficult to chase.


I guess this is how it works, unless the FIA makes new changes and bans new products that cause dirty air.
